Horse Racing Season Opens with Targeted Ad Campaign by Department of Commerce
Marketing Campaign Aims to Bring More Visitors to Miles City for Races
HELENA, Mont. – A digital marketing campaign by the Department of Commerce is focused on bringing out-of-state visitors to Miles City for May horse racing events.…
The campaign features website banner ads targeted to users within driving distance of Miles City in North and South Dakota, Wyoming, and parts of Canada. Ads started running May 1 and will continue leading up to the Bucking Horse Sale, May 20–21.
“Horse racing is a Montana tradition, and the Bucking Horse Sale is an important economic driver for Miles City and eastern Montana,” said Commerce Director Pam Haxby-Cote. “This campaign seeks to maintain successful race events now and into the future by maximizing awareness of opportunities to watch this exciting sport here in Montana.”
Horse racing season opens with the Mother’s Day races on Sunday, followed by the Bucking Horse Sale races. All races will be located at the Eastern Montana Fairgrounds.
In fiscal year 2016, Commerce awarded a Tourism Grant for $117,575 to the Eastern Montana Fair Board to renovate the livestock pavilion at the fairgrounds.
